Церемония награждения победителей Восьмой Олимпиады прошла  16 октября 2016 г.

Большое спасибо всем, кто помог подготовить и провести церемонию награждения победителей олимпиады по русскому. Спасибо также тем, кто смог приехать и привезти детей, чтобы они получили награды, и тем бабушкам-дедушкам, которые приехали получить награды вместо внуков.

В 2016 году в Олимпиаде участвовали 58 детей от 6 до 16 лет. География участников расширилась:  помимо участников из традиционных трех штатов (Нью-Йорка, Нью-Джерси и Коннектикута), к нам приехали семьи из Северной Каролины и Массачусетса.

Just like Christmas, Easter in Russia is celebrated according to the Julian calendar. It usually occurs in April or May, about two weeks after it’s celebrated by the Western Christians. Easter in Russia is perhaps the only religious holiday that somewhat celebrated even during the Soviet times.

Easter or Pascha is the oldest and most important Christian feast, celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion, as described in the New Testament. Easter is preceded by Lent, a forty-day period of fasting and penance.
